The 80 year old Fianna Fail stalwart died at his home at Blue Banks, Kilmacrennan on Thursday evening.

He will be buried at the family plot in Conwal today after 12 noon funeral mass at St.Eunan’s Cathedral.

Tributes have been played since the death of Mr McGlinchey, considered by many to be the most important Donegal politician in recent times.

As well as being a former Senator, county councillor and urban district councillor, Mr McGlinchey was a hugely successful businessman.
