Lifford AC Notes

Five of Lifford Senior team travelled to Dublin this week for the National 10k in Phoenix Park. In what was to be tough conditions again the club came away with their heads held high.

In the women’s race Ann-Marie Mc Glynn clocked 37.00 mins this giving her a place of 5th Irish woman overall. Next home for the women was Natasha Adams to ran an impressive 38.07pb and also a placing of 8th Irish woman to cross the line. The final Lifford female was Claire McGuigan who ran 41.43, Claire had a tough day, however was determined not to give up so that the trio would be in with a great chance of a team medal. Great running by all the women, who await the results of the team event.

In the men’s race Bill Duncan crossed the line in 38.04, Bill who also competed in the Bay Road 5k last Wednesday night in an excellent time of 17.25 so a great week all round for Bill. Kevin Connolly returned to racing action on Sunday after a few months out injured. He completed the National 10k with a great solid run of 39.29, this was Kevin first outing since Sligo Marathon back in September great to see him back.
