The first club stroke competition of the year was held in Otway on Sunday 7th April in the best of the weather conditions yet this year.
Another new name to the 2013 winners enclosure was Anthony McFadden who recorded a net score of 60 in the Pier Hotel Cup, just enough to pip Arthur Morisson into second place on break of tie.
The rest of the field had at least one ‘hard luck’ story to let their chances of success slip by,including Paul Murray, whose slight error on the eight, both times, left him one shot back and cursing his lack of course planning!
Action resumes this Sunday April 21st with the McCamish Cup, a single stableford club competition, when maybe some of the regulars in the winners enclosure from 2012 will kick-start their 2013 !
