MAYOR MCBREARTY – MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH DONEGAL PEOPLE IN BOSTON

The Mayor of Donegal, Cllr Frank McBrearty, has said his thoughts and prayers are with all Irish people caught up in the suspected bomb attacks in Boston this evening.Frank McBrearty

Two people have been confirmed dead and at east 29 are injured in two separate explosions at the finish line of the Boston Marathon.

Mayor McBrearty led a delegation to Boston at the end of last year.

Mayor McBrearty told Donegal Daily “I just pray to God that the death toll does not rise any further.

“I just hope that anyone from Donegal and from Ireland has escaped the carnage.

“There are so many Donegal people living in Boston and I will be trying to contact as many as possible to see if everyone is okay.

“The well-known politician, Tom O’Neill, lives in the heart of Boston and he is a good friend of Donegal. I pray that he and everyone else is okay,” he said.

Meanwhile the alert in Boston is still not over.

Suspicious devices have been found in some hotels which have now been sealed off.

At least 00 people traveled form Ireland to Boston to take part in the marathon there.
