The CONWAL SINGERS with special guest soprano ANN JENNINGS will join the DONEGAL CAMERATA for the second concert of “SUNDAYS IN CONWAL 2013” this Sunday in what is going to be another wonderful musical treat.

The Conwal Concert Series continues with a programme of Choral and Chamber Music with works by Vivaldi, Monteverdi, Mozart and Britten. For this occasion Donegal Camerata will be joined by the Conwal Singers (directed by Graham Harrison) with special guest soprano Ann Jennings and guest organist Mike Doherty.

For their regular concert series Donegal Camerata has selected works from the library of The Contemporary Music Centre. The Contemporary Music Centre (CMC) is Ireland’s national archive and resource centre for new music, supporting the work of composers throughout the Republic and Northern Ireland. Further details at www.cmc.ie.

This recital will include a string work by Vincent Kennedy, ‘Memories’ (2011) for two violins will be played by Orsolya Szabó-Yélamo (Hungary) and Lucia Spacirova (Slovakia). Vincent Kennedy is represented by the Contemporary Music Centre.

The Conwal Singers, a small mixed chamber choir, came together in 2009, and have featured regularly in Letterkenny´s Regional Cultural Centre, St.Eunan’s Cathedral and Conwal Parish Church.

Ann Jennings has established her career as a singer in many genres, and performs frequently in Germany and the Middle East as well as in her native Ireland. She has taken leading roles in North West Opera’s productions for the last 5 years, and will appear in The Merry Widow this autumn.

The Donegal Camerata (founded in 2007) is an international string ensemble of professional players based in the North West. Recently they performed at the closing concert of the 400th Anniversary celebrations of Letterkenny, in RTÉ Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany and at the Allingham Arts Festival with great success.

Here’s the programme – and start time.
