321469_162653077237526_660369174_nAll roads lead to Gortlough outside Rathmullan this evening as one of the biggest social events of the year in the area is only an hour away from starting!

A massive barn dance and barbecue will get underway at 9pm and it’s all in the name of charity! The event which will take place on Derek Edwards farm is set to attract massive numbers from both the north and south of Ireland.

A group of volunteers who are set to go out to Malawi this coming August as part of Habitat for Humanity to build houses for orphans will be the beneficiary of the evening.

The night will start off with a BBQ courtesy of two local businesses. There will then be a barn dance in a marquee with live music from some local talent.

A spokesperson for the group, Margaret Gallagher, explained further ‘The BBQ and barn dance is one of many events organised to raise funds for our group going out to Malawi. It is guaranteed to be a fun filled night and everyone is welcome. Donations on the door and we ask people to give generously. We would also like to thank everyone for their support to date.’

Bus loads are set to arrive from surrounding areas: Ramelton, Rathmullan etc. and all are welcome.
