CRANFORD DO ENOUGH TO GET PROMOTED
Dunkineely Celtic 2 Cranford United 3
Having taken the lead in this Premier Division / First Division play-off Dunkineely Celtic remained in the driving seat until the half time interval. Paul Mc Fadden opened the scoring in favour of the Darney Park men. Despite Philip Buchannan scoring from the penalty spot to level the game Dermott Gallier struck to reinstate Dunkineely’s advantage.
Having enjoyed the lion’s share of possession during this match it was Cranford United who would triumph. Buchannan got his second when he headed to the net after Shaun Mc Elwaine had flicked on a corner kick at the near post. With time running out Cranford were awarded a second penalty. Up stepped Buchannan to complete his hat-trick and in doing so sending Cranford United up to the Premier Division for the 2013/’14 season. Dunkineely meanwhile will contest the Watson Hire Division One next season.
