Shamrocks GFC V Souths GFC May 19th 2013 066

Under clear blue skies in Gaelic Park Brisbane, Shamrocks GFC claimed an impressive victory in their first game of the league.

From throw in the boys in green made their presence known – with a goal from Creeslough native Danny Sheridan in the fourth minute of play.

Another three points followed from Sheridan, Robert Mc Elhone and Sam Lewis Eastwood before South’s got on the scoreboard. Richard Knox and Sean Loughran were a faultless combination on the Shamrocks full back line with the South’s GFC scoring only 3 points by half time.

Shamrocks captain Kyle Coady set the tone for the second half as a swiftly passed ball from team mate Kieran Coey landed in the back of the net. Another goal from Brisbane native Matt Dark sealed the fate of their opponents.

Although South’s came back into the game with two successive goals it was all too little too late with only five minutes of play remaining.

Final Score, Shamrocks GFC 5-13 South’s GFC 2-03
