EXCLUSIVE: The mother of the two teenage girls who took their own lives has found happiness again after giving birth to a baby boy.

Lorraine Gallagher - delighted with new arrival Lennon.

Lorraine Gallagher’s life fell to pieces when daughters Erin, 13 and Shannon, 15, died by suicide within weeks of eachother last year.

Now Lorraine, from Ballybofey, has taken the first steps to rebuilding her life after giving birth at Letterkenny General Hospital on Saturday last.

Lorraine and fiancée Phelim Quinn, who got engaged in January, have named the baby Lennon.

The couple say they are over the moon with their new arrival.

Lorraine already has a son Sean James who is five.

Lorraine is back at home in Ballybofey and said she is delighted that the baby is healthy.

She said “We are just relieved that we are home and that little Lennon arrived okay.

“He is a very happy little boy and we are just asking to be left alone so we can start our lives together,” she said.

Lorraine, 37, said she is trying her best to get on with her life following the devastation of losing her two daughters last year.

She said she is planning to tell little Lennon all about her older sisters in time.

“Nothing will ever ease the pain fully and there’s not an hour that goes by that I don’t think about Erin and Shannon.

“They were my life and now they are gone forever.

“I have tried by best to lead as normal a life as possible for Sean James but it’s difficult.

“Now I have two lovely little boys to look after, I can try and rebuild my life.

“When the time is right, I will tell Lennon what beautiful sisters he had and how much joy they brought to everyone they knew,” she said.

Erin and Shannon, both pupils at Finn Valley College in Stranorlar, died within less than two months of eachother last year.

Erin, 13, was found dead at her home on October 27th last amidst claims that she was being bullied.

Her sister Shannon, 15, took her own life on December 14th.

At the time mum Lorraine said her eldest daughter simply could not carry on without her best friend and younger sister Erin.
