GAA NEWS – RED HUGHS SENIORS EARN GOOD DRAW AGAINST NAOMH COLUMBA

Lotto & 100+ Club

There was no jackpot winning sequence in this weeks Lotto draw but Edel Ward, 47 Ash Meadows won €30 in the lucky dip. Numbers drawn were 3,5,4,8,2,1,6,7. Next weeks Lotto jackpot is €2,400. The Lotto sellers in the coming weeks are: 8th June – Liam Kelly, 15th June – Paul Bradley and 22nd June – Kieran Bradley.

 

The winner of the 100+ Club draw this week was Francie Gallen, Tieveclougher who wins €100. Thanks to all for their continued support of the weekly Lotto & 100+ Club.

 

Seniors & Reserves

The senior team had two fixtures over the weekend. On Saturday the lads made the long journey to Glencolmcille to play Naomh Columba. The lads gave a good performance and came away with a draw in the end. Final score: Red Hughs 1-8 N. Columba 0-11. On Monday afternoon they were in action again this time at home to Naomh Brid, Ballintra. This was a game high in quality and there were some great scores taken by both side but unfortunately Red Hughs ended up on the losing side. Final score: Red Hughs 2-12 N Brid 2-15.

 

The reserves had one game at the weekend at home to N Brid on Monday and they gave a good display despite missing a number of regulars. They were unlucky to lose by two points. Final score: Red Hughs 1-8 N Brid 1-10.

 

There is no information as yet on fixtures for next weekend. It is expected to be a free weekend but this is subject to change. Keep an eye on local press and Facebook page for any updates.

 

Minor Board

The U12 girls have a friendly match against Urney next Saturday morning at 11am. The bus leaves the pitch at 10.15am.

 

Donegal Creameries Club/Primary Shools Skills Challenge will take place on Friday 7th of June at 7pm at the pitch. All boys born in 2001 are asked to attend.The winner will take part in County Final at McCool Park on Friday 14th June.

 

The U12 A & B teams take on Robert Emmets away next Monday 10th June at 7.00pm.

 

The U14 boys play away to Milford in the quarter final of the championship this Wednesday 5th June at 7.00pm.

 

U14 girls training continues at the pitch on Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. New players still welcome.

 

First Communion

Well done to all the boys and girls who made their First Holy Communion on Sunday.

 

Club Meeting

There will be a club meeting this Wednesday 5th June at 8.30pm in the clubhouse.

 

Circuit Training

Circuit training classes take place in the clubhouse on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Classes are open to men and women of all fitness levels and are a great chance to meet your fitness goals giving a total body workout. Classes takes place on Monday at 7.00pm, Wednesday at 10.30am and Thursday at 6.30pm. Classes are open to all within or outside the Red Hughs club.
