animals in needANIMAL welfare experts are looking after two dogs rescued in County Donegal this week that may have been underfed since birth.

Animals in Need Donegal says a vet believes the dogs have been starved since they were puppies.

“The vet thinks they have been starved since puppies as they are so small and that they are between 18 -24 months now,” said a spokesperson.

The dogs – one male and one female – were found in deplorable conditions.

Their coats are matted and torn.

They each weigh just over 7 kilo grammes.

After being cared for over the past 24 hours, the rescuers say both dogs have now tried to wag their tails.

If you can help in any way, through a donation or otherwise, you can contact the charity at http://www.animalsinneeddonegal.com
