Brisbane Shamrocks are on top of the league down under!!

A damp day, reminiscent of home, did not deter Mick Breslins squad as they sailed to victory and the top of the league against rivals, Souths GFC.

Souths were first on the scoreboard however Tyrone native Ciaran Coey was to lead the lead way with a point in the second minute thus the Shamrocks onslaught began.

Mark Larkin, Justin Mosch and Kyle Coady were a dangerous trio from the offset delivering swiftly to the forward line where Belfast man Robert Mc Elhone, Limericks Jason O Connell and Brisbane’s Matt Walsh scored 5-04 between them!

Souths second and only point of the first half came from a free in the 20th minute and things were not to improve for the men in Black.

The Shamrocks opened the second half with a cracking goal from Mc Elhone and the game became a one sided affair. Letterkenny man Eoghan Gallagher marked his return from injury as he put the ball in the back of the net and sealed the fate of The Souths.

The Shamrocks were relentless for the remainder of the second half and the game was over before it ever began for the Southerners.

Shamrocks: Robert Mc Elhone (Man of the Match 1-04), Eoghan Gallagher (1-00), Chris Mallon, Rory O Gorman, Richard Knox, Jason O Connell (3-00), Ciaran Coey (1-01), Justin Mosch(0-02), Dominic Keenan (0-01), Sam Lewis Eastwood (0-02), Matt Dark, Laurie Bere, Sean Loughran (0-01), Kyle Coady(0-02), David O Connell, Matt Walsh, Mark Larkin (1-03), Eoin Loughlan, Luke Devitt.
