DDTV VIDEO NEWS: Gardai in Letterkenny this afternoon issued an appeal for witnesses who may have seen Kieran Callaghan alive last weekend.
The 50 year old father of four was found dead at his home in Roshin, Churchill at 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon.
At first it was thought he died of natural causes but the scene was preserved for an investigation.
However an examination on the body by State Pathologist Marie Cassidy forced Gardai to upgrade the death to being ‘suspicious.”
Inspector Michael Harrison told reporters today that they are very anxious to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Callaghan after he was last spotted in Churchill at about 6pm last Friday.
Accompanied by Letterkenny-based Garda Inspector Goretti Sheridan, Inspector Harrison said he could not answer questions on the death for operations reason.
