MOXIE: Needs a new home

MEET Moxie – the kitten who certainly has nine lives after surviving a night INSIDE a car engine.

Animals In Need Donegal are now looking for a home for her.

She was found under the bonnet of a car parked on Main Street in Killybegs.

Moxie refused all offers of food to get her out; and eventually had to be lifted out from the engine of the vehicle.

“When we came in we first couldn’t see her but we could hear her,” said a spokeswoman.

“She was very frightend and cold but unharmed. We got her pushed out of the wheel but luckily she didn’t run into the road but and behind another wheel before eventually getting our hands on her.

“Her white fur was grey from the dirty engine and she had a slightly swollen lip-probably where she fell from the car.

“We got her tucked in nice and comfy on a heatpad for the night but despite this she showed signs of flu the next day which was treated promptly and she is now fully recovered and bonded with another little kitten in fostercare and is waiting to find a new home as no owner came forward.

“Hopefully the two little kittens will be rehomed together as her little pal Diego, had a rough start too and both need love and stability now.”
