SENIOR HURLING.

The Senior hurlers took on Burt in their first match in the Championship last Wednesday night. Both teams took to the pitch in sweltering conditions. Burt made the early advances but Mac Cumhaills stuck with them. Mac Cumhaills were awarded a penalty, which produced a brilliant save from the Burt keeper. Half time saw no differences between the teams, both scoring 0-06. The second half saw Burt put the Mac Cumhaills defense under a lot of pressure, which resulted in a long dropping ball finding its way through the defense and into the net, this gave Burt a four point lead. Mac Cumhaills got back to a goal but never really looked like taking the game. Full Time score was Sean Mac Cumhaills 0-10 Burt !-12. Scorers for mac Cumhaills were Lee Henderson 0-06 (6f) Ciaran Mathewson 0-04

THIRD TEAM FOOTBALL

The Thirds were home to Letterkenny Gaels in the Championship on sat evening. Gaels took the lead from the start and mac Cumhaills were always chasing the game. Mac Cumhaills were guilty of misplaced passes and handling errors. On the positive side Mac Cumhaills scored two good goals from Ryan Callaghan and Hank Doherty and had a good opportunity to take a draw from this game. They are away to Gaels this Sat night(TBC) and know that they can take this tie to a third game. Final score was Mac Cumhaills 2-18 Letterkenny Gaels 2-09.

UNDER 16 FOOTBALL

The under 16s eventually got their league started after 2 cancelled games. they were at home to Glenswilly. Mac Cumhaills started brilliantly and continued in the same vein for the whole game. it was a great start to the league with the whiole team plaing well and a lot of excellent scoring. Fianl score Mac Cumhaills 6-12 Glenswill 3-09. well done lads. Home to Carndonagh on Mon evening.
