COUNCIL SET TO RESCUE HOUSING ESTATES LEFT IN LIMBO BY DEVELOPERS

Patrick McGowanDONEGAL County Council is set to come to the rescue of homeowners across the county who have been left in limbo by bust developers.

Fianna Fail Cllr Patrick Mc Gowan gave a cautious welcome to the County Council’s new Policy on taking charge of services in Housing Estates.

The Council will consider on a case by case basis upon the request of a developer or in the case of a majority of Residents where the developer is no longer in Existence.

Said Cllr McGowan: “This means for a lot of Council estates like Dromore Park Killygordon, Sessagh Park Castlefin , Flaxfields Convoy and Greenfields in Convoy for example may now be taken in Charge by the Council.

“These estates have well know problems with Sewerage mechanical plants and now the Council has a policy where they can be considered for take over for the first time.

“Any Estates should get agreement from the Majority of residents that they wish the Council to take over the services in there Estate and then Contact the Council,” added Cllr Mc Gowan.
