THE sister of tragic Barry Doherty has told supporters she and her family are bringing him home to Carndonagh for burial.

Cathie Doherty had run a superb campaign to find her brother who went missing the Monday before last in Paisley, Scotland.

Barry was found dead earlier this week in the Scottish town.

“It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I’m letting you all know that our Barry has passed away. He was found on Wednesday. Dad positively identified him yesterday,” said brave Cathie in a message a short time ago.

“Táim chroíbhriste,” she said in Irish (I’m heart-broken).

“When we heard, the skies were split open with thunder and lightning. Nature echoing our own torment. The Boss putting on a big show.

“I’d like to thank our Buddies in Paisley – both for giving Barry a home in Scotland, and for being such a wonderful and supportive community to myself when I was here looking for him.

“Thanks to our friends in Ireland for all your efforts. For all your kind words and for being a constant source of support for me and my family.

“To everyone who knew Barry – I wish there had been a different outcome. Join together – wherever you are in the world and be a comfort for one another. Tell stories about him.

“We’re going to bring Barry home on Tuesday,” she added.
