Residents in one of the most badly-hit areas of Letterkenny have appealed to the county council to repair damage caused by the weekend’s floods.

Parts of the road which was damaged in Glencar, Letetrkenny.

The Glencar area of Letterkenny was submerged under huge amounts of water.

The power of the water ripped up roads leaving them in bad condition since Friday’s torrential downpours.

Local residents are appealing to the council to get roads sorted as large volumes of traffic use the roads on a daly basis.

“The pictures tell the whole story. Parts of the road have been completely wrecked and they need to be repaired.

“We are asking the council not to drag their heels in getting the roads fixed,” he said.
