Daniel O’Donnell has announced the shows will go on despite the news that wife is battling breast cancer.

Majella O’Donnell revealed last weekend that she had been diagnosed with the disease.

The couple asked fans to keep them in their prayers but asked people not to send them cards as they could not reply as they usually do.

Last night Daniel’s assistant posted a message on his website telling fans that Daniel is still keeping his promise to play a string of concerts across Ireland this year.

The schedule includes two Christmas concerts in Dublin on December 15th and 16th – Daniel’s first in the capital since 2009

“Quite a few of you have been enquiring about Daniel’s tours, but I just want to reassure you that they will go ahead as planned,” said a spokesman.
