The latest radar pic shows downpours heading into south Donegal at 3pm
BREAKING NEWS: FORECASTERS have issued an urgent FLASH FLOODING WARNING.
A short time ago Irish Weather Online and the meteotimes.met urged extreme caution for Letterkenny.
“The area of intense showers that passed through Galway is now making its way into Donegal , latest radar scans show its intensity has increased somewhat,” they said.
“Any areas recently effected in Letterkenny should take immediate precautions now.”
The warning comes after Met Eireann issued an Orange Alert for the county.
The forecaster says 50mm of rain could fall in a short period of time this afternoon.
Earlier workmen were continuing to sandbag a stream at the rear of Letterkenny hospital which was flooded last Friday.
Workers were also seen checking drains in the area around the hospital.
There is already a large amount of surface water on many roads in and around Letterkenny.
