MAN INJURED IN VICIOUS ATTACK BEING TREATED FOR BRAIN INJURY

Breaking NewsA MAN beaten in a vicious attack near Ray on Thursday night remains in a serious condition in hospital where he is being treated for a brain injury.

The victim of the incident was held at shotgun point by one masked man whilst three others beat him with hammers in the incident just outside Rathmullan.

The injured man, a native of Ramelton, also suffered a number of broken limbs including smashed ankles.

Gardai fear a vigilant gang was behind the incident.

“The man who was attacked has suffered horrendous injuries,” said one source.

“His head is swollen and doctors fear he may have suffered brain injuries as a result of the incident.”

The man is still being treated in intensive care at Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.
