Large crowds are expected for the funerals today of friends Shaun Graham and Matthew Crawford.

The young men perished when the car they were in hit a tree as they were traveled to a house party in Rathmullan in the early hours of Saturday morning last.

Shaun, 19, from Ballymacool, Letterkenny, will be buried after noon funeral mass at St Eunan’s Cathedral.

Just three hours later Matthew, 21, will be buried following his funeral mass at the Church of the Irish Martyrs.

There has been a huge outpouring of grief since the death of the two young friends.

Hundreds of messages have been posted on Facebook from friends of the young men.

Two other men also in the car are still in a serious but stable condition in Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry.

The men have been named locally as Noel Carr and Damien Gallagher.

Meanwhile a full investigation is underway into why the men’s Honda Integra car crashed.

Fr Eamon McLaughlin has appealed to anyone who has lost loved ones through road traffic accidents to make contact with the Graham and Crawford families.
