Another very busy and rewarding week for club athletes and officials. On Saturday Kelly McGrory was a member of the Irish U18 Celtic team that competed in Colynn Bay, North Wales. The Laghey lass gave Ireland maximum points when winning the 400m Hurdles in a new record and impressive time of 64.14secs pushing Rosie Wilson, Scotland and Rhiana Williams into the minor places.Well done Kelly.
On Monday morning, 5th Aug., 8.30am start -five club athletes faced the starter in the Rock in Roll-National Half Marathon in Dublin. Well done Paddy Donoghue,M55/96mins 14secs, Philomena Gallagher,F40/96mins 19secs, Linda Ward, F45/97ins29secs,Sharon McGowan, LaterF45/97mins29secs., and Anne Donoghue, F50/98mins 3secs -all excellent times and performances
Later on Monday -7.30pm – the club hosted the Gathering 5k in Donegal Town. The race was won impressively by Sane Hayes from Sligo -see results below -Thanks to all the athletes that supported, to the Gardaí, the numerous marshalls, timekeepers, results and hospitality groups a sincere thanks -a most enjoyable night – well done all.

On Sunday evening next the annual Mullaghmore 5k run/walk is once again being organised by club stalward Pat McManus.Starting at 5pm, with proceeds in aid of the Hospice, we encourage everyone to come and support one of the most scenic and enjoyable events inn the local calendar.
On Sunday week the clubs women’s team will contest the Premier League final in Tullamore. This event is the culmination of National Inter Club Track and Field competition for the season and Tir Chonaill will be pushing for a top three place finish –team will be declard early next week
