Mass Rock 2A RECLAIMED Mass Rock in Letterkenny is proving a popular attraction for visitors and locals alike.

Mass was celebrated to mark the Penal times at the old Mass Rock in the vicinity of Rodgers Burn near the Glenoughty housing estate.

The Mass Rock site had been restored in recent months by the local community and has proved an historical attraction over the summer months.

Bishop Philip Boyce who delivered the Homily and praised the work of the local community and the members of the Knights of Columbanus who helped to restore the site and organise the various events over the summer months which took place there and within the local national schools.

Access to the Mass Rock via the temporary bridge may be closed shortly but it is hoped that further negotiations between the landowners and the local residents will see that the historical site remain untouched and reopened on agreed seasonal times in the future.
