GAA NEWS – RED HUGHS TO HOST GOLF CLASSIC

Lotto & 100+ Clubred hughs

There was no jackpot winning sequence in this weeks Lotto draw but Leah Kelly, Edenoughill; Martina Kelly, Dromore and Michael Kelly, Ballyarl matched 3 numbers 4,5,7 to win €20 each. Numbers drawn were 4,5,7,8,6,3,2,1. Next weeks Lotto jackpot is €2,850. The Lotto sellers in the coming weeks are: 24th August – Eamonn Kelly, 31st August – Maurice O’Donnell, 7th September – Ollie Doherty and 14th September – Tommy McGlinchey

 

The winner of the 100+ Club draw this week was Francie Scanlon, Crossroads who wins €100. Thanks to all for their continued support of the weekly Lotto & 100+ Club.

 

Seniors & Reserves

Both teams were in action at home to St Nauls on Saturday evening. The reserves were up first and they put in another good performance to come away with a two point win. They trailed by two points at half time but did very well in the second half to run out winners. Christopher Bonner (0-5), James McMenamin (0-3), Mark Coyle (0-2), Brendan O’Brien (0-2) and Carl Scanlon (0-1) got the scores. Final score: Red Hughs 0-13 St Nauls 2-5

 

The senior game was a good game of football with some great scores taken by both sides. Red Hughs got off to a great start with Calvin Bradley scoring from the penalty spot to get the lads underway. At half time they lead by one point 1-5 to 0-7. Despite a strong effort from top of the table St Nauls in the second half the lads dug deep and got the scores to hold out for a vital win. Calvin Bradley (1-2), Damien Browne (0-6) and Paul Byrne (0-1) were on the the scoresheet. Final score: Red Hughs 1-9 St Nauls 0-11.

 

There is currently no information on fixtures for the seniors or reserves next weekend. Keep an eye on Facebook page or local press for details.

 

Senior Ladies

The senior ladies are fixed to play Urris at home in the 1st round 2nd leg of the county championship this Wednesday evening the 21st August at 7.30pm. Best of luck to the girls who need to win to stay in the competition. All come out and support.

 

U21 Championship

The U21 team take on St Nauls at home in the 1st round of the county championship this Tuesday (today) 20th August at 7.30pm. Best of luck to the lads and all come out to support.

 

Minor Board

The club is running a local league for all U8, U10 and U12 boys and girls starting this Friday the 23rd August at 6.00pm. Loads of help is still needed to make this a success. Managers and referees are needed and if you are able to help out please contact Stephen Gallagher on (087) 2054484. All come out and support the boys and girls.

 

Underage training continues on Saturday morning from 11.00 to 12.00am for all boys and girls.

 

Red Hughs Golf Classic

Red Hughs CLG is holding a Golf Classic on Saturday 21st September at Ballybofey & Stranorlar Golf Club sponsored by Killygordon Animal Health. Teams of four of any combination, entry at €80 per team with both ladies and gents welcome. There will be a selection of team prizes on the day with longest drive etc. All are welcome to come along and enjoy.
