Donegal cyclist Philip Deignan has pulled off the deal of a lifetime after signing a deal with the famous Team Sky racing outfit.Philip Deignan

The Letterkenny man is expected to join some of the world’s top cyclists including Bradley Wiggins and Chris Froome next season.

Deignan, who turns 30 on Saturday, has ben rewarded for many years of hard work in the saddle.

Philip will team up with some of the most talented riders in the world in the world’s biggest team — one that has claimed the last two Tours de France.

Deignan has long been earmarked as one of the most talented riders in Ireland but never quite found the team to prove himself on.

Now he is to be given the perfect opportunity to do just that with a team that will back him al the way.

A prolific mountain climber, this season could now see Deignan fulfill his dream and stand beside the greats of Irish cycling including Sean Kelly and Stephen Roche.
