glentiesSympathy:

Sincere sympathy is extended to Maureen Quinn and family, Glen Tavern, Greenans, Glenties on the death on Monday 25th August 2013 of Maureen’s brother, Patsy Breslin, formerly of Mullanmore, Glenties. His Remains were brought to St. Connell’s Church, Glenties on Wednesday evening. Fr. Denis Quinn P.P. Falcarragh, assisted by other Priests concelebrated Requiem Mass on Thursday and burial took place afterwards in the New Graveyard; Glenties; sympathy also to all other relatives and friends. Three brothers, John Joe, Jim and Foncie predeceased Patsy.

Sincere sympathy is extended to Isobel Mc Loone, Mill Road, Glenties on the death of her brother Neil Greene, Annagry, who was buried on Sunday last.

Bingo:

The winners at the Bingo in the Community Centre, Glenties on Tuesday 7th August were – € 25 Winners – Terence Breslin, Mrs McGettigan, Roisin Harkin and Lisa Coughlan; € 50 Winners – Sadie Sweeney, Willie Mc Nelis, Jimmy Quinn, Bella Boyle, Maria Boyle, Melissa Browne, Rosaleen Melly, Dim Melly, Majella Boyle, Bridie Gallagher and Renee Mulhern. € 60 Winner – Shane McGuire; €100 Winners – Charlie McBrearty, Elisha Mc Carlin, Amalia Mc Taggart, Annie Boyle, Eileen Breslin, Teresa Molloy, Ann Quinn, Bernie Fitzpatrick and Mary Gazley; € 300 Winner – Sarah Gallagher.

The Glenties Harvest Fair Cycle Challenge:

The Glenties Harvest Fair Cycle Challenge (30k, 60k or120k), takes place on Sunday 8th September from the Comprehensive School. Registration is from 9.00 a.m. with the challenge starting at 10.00 a.m.

Glenties Community Playgroup / Afterschool:

Glenties Community Playgroup / Afterschool will re – open on Monday 2nd September. If you wish to enrol your child / children for the coming term please contact Bridie on 087 757 0857 as there are still spaces available in the Pre – school and Afterschool. Playschool opens 5 days 9 a.m.- 12.30 p.m. Free Playschool Year – If your child was born between 2nd February 2009 and 30th June 2010 your child can access five 3 hour sessions.

Afterschool opens from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. – on a Thursday art and crafts and Friday a wide variety of planned activities indoors and outdoors. There is a pick–up service from Scoil Mhuire at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. There are also discounts available to families in receipt of benefits / low income / community employment schemes, if you need any further information contact Bridie on 087 757 0857 or 9551907.

Annie Behan Memorial Fun Run:

The Family of Annie Behan would like to thank everyone who took part in, helped out in any way, or provided sponsorship for, The Annie Behan Memorial Fun Run. The amount collected for the Donegal Hospice was €1,700.00.
