SEAMUS Coleman’s dream of playing in a major soccer championship is in tatters tonight after Ireland were beaten in Vienna.

David Alaba scored six minutes from time to give Austria to a 1-0 victory – and dump Ireland out of any chance of a trip to Brazil.

The Bayern Munich midfielder has now given the Austrians a chance of overcoming Sweden for second spot in Group C.

Ireland still have to play Germany and Kazakhstan, but have no hope of qualifying now.

Killybegs man Coleman played out of his skin for Ireland tonight, making a number of crucial interventions for his side.

But the Everton player, Ireland’s man of the match tonight, faces missing out on another major championship after Trap didn’t even include him in the squad for the Euros.
