The news from Education Minister Ruairi Quinn as been welcomed by local Labour Party Senator Jimmy Harte.

” Again I am delighted that the Minister has delivered on the Education front to schools in Donegal As a proud past pupil of St Eunan’s College I warmly welcome this news that the College will now have the funding to erect these classrooms.

“I spoke with Minister Quinn today at our “Think In” in Co Meath and he confirmed that the funding is in place and he announced it this after noon as promised.

“St Eunan’s College has a fine tradition in Education and is an integral part of the Letterkenny community.

“My own family connections to the College go back to my father, uncles , brothers and sons all attending and I look forward to future generations making the trip to Sentry Hill for their secondary education.”

This news comes after the recent announcements that the Government is investing € 2..2 billion in a five year capital programme to prioritise school building projects and to ensure that every child has access to a school place.
