The former Chief Exectuive of Pramerica Letterkenny has landed a top position at IT Sligo.

Henry McGarvey from Milford has been appointed Head of Department of Computing and Creative Practices in the college.

He has more than 20 years experience in multinational organisations in Ireland and abroad. As Chief Executive of Pramerica Systems Ireland in Letterkenny since 2002, Henry grew the organisation from 100 to more than 1000 professionals.

On his appointment, Henry said that it is an exciting time to join IT Sligo as higher education is going through major changes.

“Education is the key to unlocking potential in both students and in our region and it will play a critical role in the recovery of our economy,” he said.

“I’m looking forward to working with a dynamic group of staff and students in the Department of Computing and Creative Practices and in working with our stakeholders to ensure that our course are producing graduates with the skills that they need,” he said.
