SOCCER: BONAGEE SEE OFF FANAD IN CUP PENALTY SHOOT-OUT

Fanad Utd 2 – Bonagee 2 after extra time

Fanad 4 – Bonagee 6 after penalty shoot out.

This was an evenly contested Cup game on an ideal evening for football at Traigh a Loch. Fanad went into the lead after 35 minutes with a great shot from 20 yards from Hassett. With few chances from both side the half finished with Fanad a goal to the good.

Half time Fanad 1 – Bonagee 0

Bonagee got off to a great start in the second half with a goal from Appriah on 3 minutes but Fanad came right back at them with a great shot from Mc Veigh on 13 minutes. Again the lead was short lived as Bonagee equalized for the second time with a goal from Rainey on 20 minutes. Fanad did put pressure on the Bonagee side but were deny with a few good saves from Bonagee.

Full time Fanad 2 – Bonagee 2

After extra time the result remained 2 all so to the dreaded penalties. The Bonagee keeper was the hero of the night saving twice from Mc Veigh and Boachie-Ansah. The penalty shoot out ended 4-2 in favour of Bonagee
