Primary Schools 1You could not have asked for a better day to stage the Invitation primary school cross country at Finn Valley.

The response was really positive with some 800 youngsters enjoying an athletics linked educational experience and they once again came from far and near.

Great excitement as is the norm with excellent organisation by the host Finn Valley AC.

Runners were out on a dry course on the road back to schools and home by 1pm.

There were many fine performances – both individual and team – but it’s as much about participation.

A big thank you to teachers and parents while we are a long way from widespread participation we continue to push the positive message out there and will continue to do so more important at this point in time when fitness and obesity are seriously relevant.

Day One complete back at the same venue tomorrow for secondary schools.
