Some of the world’s top bloggers are coming to Donegal. No use for laptops in Culdaff!

Ireland will be trending this weekend as Fáilte Ireland provides tailor-made tours of the country for up to a hundred travel and tourism bloggers from over 15 countries who are in Ireland ahead of the TBEX Europe 2013 conference, which takes place next week in the Burlington Hotel Dublin (October 3-4th).

It is anticipated these bloggers will be a major boost to Ireland’s profile as a tourism destination – and they are coming to Donegal!

While the delegates are here, they will be facilitated in fully experiencing all Donegal can offer by having the opportunity to go on a number of exciting press tours developed by Fáilte Ireland with lots of photo opportunities and great story ideas.

The bloggers have an action packed itinerary on their Wild Atlantic Way North West trip (#WAWNorthwest).

The travel bloggers will arrive in Donegal on Monday to get a windswept experience of Donegal’s coastline starting with a boat trip around the iconic Sliabh Liag cliffs.

Following a light lunch they will then have a guided tour through the Slieve League Cliffs by minibus before heading to the Glencolumcille Folk Village and on to discover Irish culture at Oideas Gael Cultural Centre.

Tuesday will see the group depart from Harveys Point for the Inishowen Peninsula and a guided tour of an Grianan of Aileach Ancient Stone Fort departing Burt and driving via Buncrana and Dunree Head through Mamore Gap on to Glenevin Waterfall, Doagh Famine Village to Banba’s Crown and finishing at Malin Head.

Fáilte Ireland Head of Operations, Martina Bromley today emphasised “This is a great opportunity to create a major impression to tens of millions of online followers as the TBEX delegates explore Donegal while they are here and share their experiences with the world.

“Coming, as it does, against the background of The Gathering, we will be conducting our largest social media marketing campaign and press trips imaginable – to ensure that, as hundreds of travel writers are generating tens of millions of impressions online, the best possible sounds, sights and sensations from around Donegal are transmitted.

“TBEX is the kind of conference every destination wants to host; we will have a captive audience of hundreds of the world’s top tourism bloggers giving us the potential to make a massive digital footprint across social media channels.”

TBEX, the Travel Bloggers Exchange, is the world’s largest conference and networking event for online travel journalists and travel industry companies, with previous conferences generating some millions of online impressions.

This year’s conference will bring over 600 delegates from across the globe and is an excellent opportunity for the Irish tourism industry, trade and travel brands to promote Ireland and engage with the world’s most influential travel bloggers and leading digital content creators.
