PSNIA car stolen in the Galliagh area of Derry at the weekend was recovered in Co. Donegal after it was involved in a crash.

The burgundy Opel Astra, registration AKZ 2277, was taken from the Rossnagalliagh area between 4.ooam and 6.30am on Saturday and was later involved in a collision in the Raphoe area and was recovered by Gardai.

It’s understood Gardaí are linking the car to the theft of TVs from a farmer’s home in the Raphoe area at the weekend.

A wing mirror from the car was found in the farmyard after the raid.

The investigating PSNI officer investigating the car’s theft is keen to speak to anyone who saw the car that day.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 00 44 845 600 8000.
