DONEGAL CAMERATA String EnsembleThe Donegal Camerata is back in Inishowen this weekend.

The Da Capo Concert Series has invited the Letterkenny-based ensemble to perform in Culdaff on Sunday 20th October, as part of their regular series of concerts in Inishowen.

The Da Capo Concert Series promotes high quality, live classical music in Inishowen. Recently concerts featured top ensembles such as the Fidelio Trio, ConTempo String Quartet or Cassiopeia Winds.

For this their second visit to Inishowen, the Donegal Camerata will present “Serenades & Dances” in St. Buadan’s Church, Culdaff, Sunday 20th October at 3pm.

The concert includes popular works of the Classical repertoire such as Mozart´s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, Bartok´s Romanian Dances or the Brahms Hungarian Dances alongside other enjoyable pieces from their repertoire.

Also they will perform “Lament” from John McLachlan´s String Quartet No. 2, a wonderful piece selected from the library of the Contemporary Music Centre Ireland.

During this year the Donegal Camerata String Quintet has appeared in different venues across the county as well as continuing to develop an audience for Classical Music with their regular concerts in Conwal Church.

Working with different organisations, the ensemble intends to keep bringing their chamber music performances to every corner of Donegal.

Founded in 2007, the Donegal Camerata is an international string ensemble of professional players based in the North West.

Recently they performed at the closing concert of the 400th Anniversary celebrations of Letterkenny, in RTÉ Radio 1’s Sunday Miscellany and at the Allingham Arts Festival with great success.

Don’t miss this rare chance to hear live classical music near you!

Tickets €10 / €7 Concession. Tel 9383734 for further information
