THEY went into the game against Donaghmoyne as underdogs – but Termon Ladies pulled off a stunning comeback to draw their Ulster Senior Championship final with the Monaghan champions this afternoon.
The Clones decider – essentially a ‘home’ match for Donaghmoyne – was a real cracker.
And to be honest Termon looked out of it at half-time, having scored just once.
But that score was a goal, so the Donegal side trailed by six – losing 0-09 to 1-00.
And so it would prove to be a vital score.
Donaghmoyne contined to rack up the points in the second half and extended their lead to nine points.
But Termon came steam-rolling back into it with Geraldine McLaughlin again superb and closed the gap to just a point with a few minutes left before levelling before the final whistle to force a replay on a score of Termon 4-05, Donaghmoyne 1-14. (17 points each).
