100 up: Jack celebrating today
IRELAND’S oldest GAA steward is celebrating his 100th birthday today.
Jack Hannigan still helps out at his home town club at Mac Cumhaills in Ballybofey.
Jack got a special celebratory birthday card from President Michael D Higgins.
He was also presented with a special plaque by County Board chairman Sean Dunnion at last Sunday’s county final between Glenswilly and Killybegs.
Jack is the honorary president of Mac Cumhaills.
A club spokesman said: “We’d like to wish Jack a very happy birthday.
“He still drives himself to matches and is very much part of our club.
“We’d like to wish him all the best on his 100th birthday.”
