A protest has been organised a protest in a Donegal village to demand safe road crossings with adequate signage.

Chairperson on Muff Sinn Féin, Daithi McGonigal, has said that his party’s local cumann has organised the protest.

The protest will take place on Saturday between 12.30 and 1.30pm across fom the Squealing Pig Bar.

Mr McGonigal said “We organised this protest after concerns were raised by many local residents regarding the crossings which the council installed in the village.

“Local people are concerned that the crossings cannot be seen by drivers and that the new signage is not visible enough to give adequate warning.

“The community is demanding proper crossings on this extremely busy road before someone is hurt, or worse.

“I would urge everyone in the community to join us and let the council know that we demand safe crossings for our children.

“We will be joined by local Councillor Jack Murray who is committed to securing safe crossings to the village.”
