Irish goalkeeping legend Packie Bonner says Martin O’Neill is the perfect age to take the Ireland manager’s job but just needs time.
The Donegal shot-stopper says the former Celtic and Aston Villa boss could make the perfect candidate.
O’Neill is already top of the FAI hitlist but has yet to commit to anything.
Packie said “I think the best managers for international teams are the other side of 50.
“Martin O’Neill is the perfect age for it (61), he’s the right age, he just needs to make up his mind quickly.
“Oler managers start to think differently, they can manage people and their credibility is much better,” he said.
