DONEGAL TD Pearse Doherty says he and his party have been sent more Anglo Tapes – and they are offering them to Gardaí and the Government for further investigation.

Deputy Doherty said a short time ago: “Sinn Féin was anonymously sent a copy of secret recordings involving senior Anglo officials majority of recordings are not currently public.

“We have Anglo tapes available to the Gardaí and the Governor of the Central Bank and we have also retained a copy with my solicitor.”

The new tapes come after the publication and airing of several of them in a newspaper earlier this year.

The Gaoth Dobhair politician went on: “It has always been my view that the Fianna Fail Government had more info in relation to the bank prior to the guarantee than they previously disclosed.

“On the advice of Senior Counsel, we have taken the decision not to release the tapes at this time.”
