GOLF NEWS – PORTSALON HOSTS ITS FOURTH WINTER LINKS OUTING

Mulroy Winter Links

The fourth outing of the Mulroy Winter Links will be staged at Rosapenna golf course on Saturday 9th November and will played on the Old Tom Morris course. If for any reason you cannot play please contact either Rosapenna or Portsalon golf clubs this will enable a member from the reserve list play . The success of the competition will be down to the Mulroy Links members.GOLF LOGO

 

Gaeltacht League

The Gaeltacht League match which was scheduled for Saturday last at Cruit Island was cancelled due to the adverse weather conditions. The next Gaeltacht League match is scheduled for Saturday 16th November at Cloughaneely golf club.

 

 

 

Events

On Sunday 3rd November it’s a members competition and on Wednesday 6h November t’s a gent’s open competition. A time sheet is in operation for all competitions contact 0749159459 or go online to portsalongolfclub. Good news for visitors to Portsalon Golf Club for the Wednesday open competitions with the visitor entry fee for the open competitions reduced to €15.

 

Special Offer New Members

Fancy some free golf? A special opportunity for new members to join Portsalon Golf Club and enjoy two months free golf. All you have to do is make your application pay your fees for 2014 and get November and December 2013 free. Alternatively you can sign up and pay by instalments of €240 November and December. Winter Rules

Winter rules are now in place for in order to protect the surrounds of our greens during the Autumn and Winter months.

 

 

Placing

Members and visitors should note that 6 inch placing on fairways only has been introduced a bit earlier than usual in order to allow the green staff carry out repairs to some of the fairways.

 

Results

The winner of the open competition played on Wednesday was 31st was Aidan Mc Alary On Sunday the winner of the members competition was Kieran O’Neill (13) 38 points, runner up Anthony Toland (15) 37 points, gross Kevin Mc Gonigle (5) 29 points third Michael Shields (14) 37 points. The CSS was 37 points

Members and visitors to Portsalon Golf Club should note that on line booking is now available for all competitions at Portsalon at the flick of a button go to portsalongolfclub.com

 

 

 

Divot Bags

Members and visitors please note that divot bags are now available on entry to the first tee box and should you forget there is another chance to pick up a bag on the second tee box. . Please ensure that you pick up a bag and assist with the course maintenance
