BREAKING THE LAW! GARDA CAR GETS RED CARD FOR ILLEGAL PARKING AT SOCCER MATCH

Garda CarGARDAÍ have been left red-faced this evening – for illegal parking at a soccer match.

An Armed Response Unit vehicle was parked up to watch a game this evening between Donegal Gardai and Sligo Gardai at the LYIT soccer pitches in Letterkenny.

But the LYIT campus – notorious for its lack of parking – operates a strict policy on vehicles parking on either double yellow lines, or on grass verges.

As you can see from this Donegal Daily picture however there are strictly no exceptions.

Even Gardai must abide by the law.

And so LYIT parking staff have attached a large white sticker to the Armed Response Unit vehicle.

Signs warning of the parking restrictions are just a few yards away.

“There are no exceptions to the rules, not even for the guards,” said one member of LYIT staff.

“It’s not a fixed penalty notice, just a warning. And clamping can often follow if the restriction continues,” she added.

Last we heard the match was tied at 0-0.
