WOMAN WALKED OUT OF SUPERMARKET WITH WHISKEY AND VODKA

A Letterkenny woman was stopped by Gardai after she walked out of a supermarket with a bottle of vodka and whiskey.

Ann-Marie Donegan, of Bomany, was caught by Gardai after leaving LIDL at Letterkenny Retail Park on December 15th.

A member of staff had followed Ms Donegan outside of the supermarket and had flagged down a passing Garda.

Garda Damien Mulkearns said he approached Ms Donegan and he handed over the goods and she admitted the offence straight away.

Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his client had an addiction to alcohol.

She was 43 and has previous convictions for breaching a barring order.

Judge Paul Kelly put the case back to January 20th and requested evidence that she has contacted probation services.
