MAYOR: I FELT OBLIGED TO SUPPORT BUDGET IN INTERESTS OF COUNTY

Ian McGarveyCOUNTY Mayor Ian McGarvey said he had tried to be impartial throughout the adjourned budget debate.

However he said “obliged” to support the budget “in the interests of County Donegal.”

The 83-year-old added: “We won’t all be here forever.

“I welcome the reduction in payments to me and to councillors because what is going on in this country is a disgrace.”
