COUNTY MUSEUM SEEKS MEMORABILIA AS AXE FALLS ON LETTERKENNY COUNCIL

As Letterkenny Town Council comes to an end in the middle of 2014, Donegal County Museum and Donegal County Archives are organising an exhibition on 100 years of Letterkenny Urban District/ Town Council.Donegal County Museum

Some of the areas Letterkenny Urban District/ Town Council have been involved with over many years include Water, Roads, Sewage and Housing, Parks and Recreation, the swimming pool, An Grianan Theatre , the RCC and Donegal County Museum , Public lighting, the Development of the Main Street , Market Square and of the Cathedral Quarter, Tourism, Tidy Towns and Active Letterkenny.

Donegal County Museum is seeking information, objects, maps and photographs, documents, films which highlight the difference the council has made throughout the years to the development of Letterkenny Town.

Items could include photographs of former staff members, Councilors and events, old letters pertaining to council business, certificates, election posters and any information on the current whereabouts of the Town Clock.
