Daniel O’Donnell has revealed his wife is having plenty of rest and relaxation before she undergoes serious surgery in the coming weeks.

The singer and his brave wife Majella spent Christmas at home but have spent the last few weeks on sun-kissed Tenerife.

But Majella will return to Ireland where she has opted to have a double mastectomy in her bid to overcome breast cancer.

Daniel revealed “At the minute Majella and I are in Tenerife and we’ve been here since New Year’s Eve. My holiday is almost coming to an end as next Tuesday we start our UK shows.

“We really haven’t been doing much since we got to Tenerife other than relaxing and we have really enjoyed this time together.

“I’m glad to say Majella is feeling well at the moment. She will return home on the 4th of February as she is scheduled to have her mastectomy in the coming weeks.

“Even though I’m going to be away during this time we are very lucky she has so many people around to support her,” said Daniel.

Majella captured the hearts of the Irish public when she had her hair shaved live on the Late Late Show.

She managed to raise more than €600,000 for the Irish Cancer Society with her brave efforts ahead of her chemotherapy.

Daniel has also revealed that his mother Julia has been ill in hospital in Dungloe but is recovering.

“My mother is doing well and thank God everything is good with us,” he added.
