Donegal Daily revealed how a number of houses and cars were broken into last night in the Cloncool Park area.

Cllr McLaughlin said the Gardai responded as quickly as possible resulting in the arrests.

He said he had spoken to some of the victims who said they were relieved the raiders had been caught.

“I spoke to one family who woke up and went downstairs to find their house ransacked. They were in shock and felt violated by the break in but they also were relieved that they didn’t waken and confront the burglars.

“They rang the Gardai and they were there in minutes.

“The Buncrana Gardai deserve high praise today as they were on the scene very quickly and made two arrests in the space of a few hours.

“People will sleep better at night knowing the Gardai are on top of things,” he said.
