Garda AccidentA MOTORIST has been rushed to hospital after a serious road crash overnight.

The male driver was involved in a single vehicle crash at The Nick, Ardara just after 9pm last night.

He was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital where he has been treated for multiple fractures.

It’s understood he’s in a stable condition there today and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Gardaí sealed off the scene of the collision for a forensic investigation with officers in Glenties appealing for any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

The incident happened after another day of heavy rain across the county left many roads in a treacherous condition.

Met Eireann is warning that more heavy rain tonight and tomorrow will hit Donegal, with no sign of any settled weather for another week at least.
