YOUNG COUPLE HOSPITALISED AFTER BEING ATTACKED WITH WHEEL-BRACE AT THEIR HOME

BREAKING NEWS: Gardai are investigating an attack on a young couple at their home last night.Burglars

The couple, who are in their 30s, were set upon in their house and attacked with a wheel-brace.

The attack happened around 8pm in the Porthall area of Lifford.

It is believed there was also a young child in the house at the time but the child was thankfully unhurt.

The couple were taken to Letterkenny General Hospital for treatment.

It is not known what was taken during the raid.

The raid is the latest in a series of break-ins along the border area in recent weeks.

Last week more than 1,500 people attended a meeting at the Manorcunningham Resource Centre during which a €10,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest of those behind the attacks.
