It’s about as far removed from a Donegal sport as you can get.

Curling is coming to the Finn Valley!

Curling is coming to the Finn Valley!

But now, fresh on from the Winter Olympics in Russia, the popular sport will be coming to the Finn Valley.

A team from the CAKE Wednesday Club for older people will take-on a Stranorlar outfit next Monday, March 3, at the Oaktree Centre in Killygordon.

Following the establishment of an east Donegal league by the Donegal Sports Partnership, CAKE will enter teams against neighbouring Raphoe, Letterkenny, Stranorlar and Lifford.

The will have five home and five away games.

Next Monday’s encounter against Stranorlar should be an entertaining and competitive one and spectators are more than welcome to come along.

The game will begin at 2 pm and end at around 4 pm.

Meanwhile, tickets are selling fast for the annual dinner dance for the older people of the area which will be held in the Villa Rose, Hotel, Ballybofey on Wednesday, March 12.

Anyone who wishes to go should contact the CAKE office as soon as possible on 074 91 49557, between 9 am and 1:30 pm.

There are only a few tickets remaining.
